Training / Certifications: 200 RYT (Ashtanga and Vinyasa)

How long have you been practicing Yoga? 20 years

Describe your teaching style: I like to focus on linking the mind, body and spirit which is very much influenced by my personal practice in the more traditional styles of yoga such as Ashtanga and Iyengar. I believe that one can  reap the full benefits of yoga by getting the fundamentals right, which is why I tend to give more verbal cues and hands-on adjustments so that my students can experience the benefits of each asana. Yoga is also about compassion, teaching and practicing with compassion.

What’s your favorite thing about teaching Yoga?

To know that I have helped someone feel better mentally, physically or emotionally.

Tell us about your Ohana (family): My husband and I met in Singapore 10 years ago. We got married in Singapore a year later and moved to America in 2012. It was the biggest decision of my life to leave everything behind but I am loving life in America. We have 2 standard poodles that we call our children and we take them everywhere with us.

Favorite place you’ve traveled to? We love traveling to experience different cultures. Each country has its own unique beauty it is so hard to pinpoint a favorite place. We love the beaches, food and people in Thailand, the seafood, vino verde and rich history in Portugal and the geographical diversity of America.

What’s your favorite nature spot? Bridgeland - where I live!

Interests outside Yoga: Hiking with dogs, cooking, baking, indoor rock climbing, binge watching TV series

How do you define living your life to the fullest everyday? To live life without regret.

Your favorite quote / bible verse: “Yoga teaches us to cure what need not be endured and endure what cannot be cured.” - BKS Iyengar
